Stueck Pharmacy - PharmaChoice Advice for Life

Pandemic Preparedness at Stueck Pharmacy

August, 2009

Stueck Pharmacy has offered our services in assisting Public Health with the administration of H1N1 Vaccine in the Cypress Health Region should the need arise.

Our two pharmacists, Gordon Stueck and Leah Butt, are currently being trained in vaccine administration.

Stueck Pharmacy is expecting delivery soon of an Haier-260 Vaccine & Biological Refrigerator complete with a paper temperature log recorder. We have also purchased a number of coolers that meet the stringent cold-chain requirements of Health Canada. It is with this equipment we can confidently offer our services.

Assuming the vaccine would be provided through Public Health or Cypress Health Region, we are prepared to:

  1. Administer or assist in the administration of the vaccine.
  2. Record and track those receiving the vaccine.
  3. Arrange for on-site and remote site pharmacist attendance to perform the vaccinations.
  4. Arrange the storage and transport of vaccine while maintaining the cold-chain.
  5. Perform the aforementioned at no charge as a service to our community.

We recognize the logistical difficulties involved in undertaking a rapid mass vaccination program. We would prefer to be part of the solution rather than bystanders.
