Well, it has been one week since I arrived in Leader. I came here a brand-spanking new pharmacist, straight out of school. I still feel like a student but I am feeling more comfortable and confident in the dispensary. Today was my first day up at the Leader Medical Clinic. I will be there several afternoons a week. The purpose of my being at the Medical Clinic is to be accessible to the doctors and nurse practitioner should they need to confer with me regarding drug therapy; as well I will be doing chart reviews on request from the doctors/nurse practitioner. The chart reviews will consist of a review of the patient?s medications to ensure appropriate therapy. Then I will make suggestions to the doctors/nurse practitioner regarding dose or drug changes. I look forward to working with and learning from the doctors and nurse practitioner at Leader Medical Clinic.
